Cisco CCNA Home Lab

Description

This is a full CCNA/CCNP home lab which includes:
A 6 unit locking case (wall mountable if you wanted to do that)
An Avocent Cyclades 32-port console server - ACS6032
3 Cisco 1841 routers with T1 DSU/CSU modules (not installed or pictured)
2 Cisco 3750 24-port switches
I'm also going to include all my spare Cat5e cabling, my USB-to-RJ45 console cable, and a 12-port Cat5e patch panel. I can send a picture of that stuff, but there's not much to see.
I've factory reset the routers and switches, deleted vlan.dats on the switches, then went back through and changed the hostnames to match my documentation. I've left the ACS6032 configs alone and I'll pass along the documentation I made showing you how to access and use the console server, which is Linux-based.
I do not have the devices mounted to the rack since the rack adapters aren't cheap or easy to find. What I did instead was I used rug tape in between each device. It's all rock-solid and it won't shift at all.
Everything was purchased separately on Ebay. I put this kit together to study for the CCNA and now my career is taking me down a different path.

How Many Routers Do I Need for my Cisco CCNA Lab?
Let`s explain to you what you can do with one, two or three routers.
One router
will give you the ability to run the commands on it and will allow you to memorize the correct syntax and context in which to run the commands.
Two routers
will allow you to be able to see route table information propagate, data propagation and path election. In addition, you will see basic device elections.
Three or more routers
and you will get all the above, more complex topologies and full device elections.
We strongly suggest you buy three router kits.
How Many Switches Do I Need for my Cisco CCNA Lab?
Let`s explain to you what you can do with one, two or three switches.
One switch
will give you the ability to run the commands on the switch and allow you to memorize the correct syntax and context in which to run the commands. It will also allow you to do some of the VLAN labs.
Two switches
will allow you to see VTP Domain & VLAN information propagate. In addition, you will see basic device elections.
Three or more switches
you will get all the above and full device elections.
We suggest to you buy our three switch lab kits because of having the best learning experience.
